team; added a Midget team in 1987. Grew from four teams in 1997 to five
teams in 1998-1999 and eight teams for the 2000-2001 season. |

Michigan Capitals teams have consistently represented Michigan at the U.S.
Women's National Championships in all divisions. |

Over 30 former Michigan
Capitals have played on Division I college varsity women's hockey teams.
Many have also played on Division III and Club level teams. |

In 1998, our 12 & Under team
won the SILVER medal at the National Championships in San Jose, California. |

Michigan Capitals teams also
participated in the National Championships in 2000 (Troy, Michigan) and 2002
(Anchorage, Alaska). |

Former Capitals Shelley Looney was a member of the first U.S. Women's Olympic Team
and won gold, silver, and bronze medals in Olympic competition. |

and 8 & Under all girls teams were Capitals, established in 1998. |
